OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN/STATIONARY ENGINEER
Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of
industrial gases and chemicals, has several immediate openings for
Operations Technicians at its new Detroit hydrogen facility.
This site consists of a 58MM SCFD steam methane reformer supplying hydrogen
and steam to a major refinery. This is a new facility that is being built
and commissioned as part of the refinerys major expansion project and is
located within the refinery.
This position is responsible and accountable for controlling and monitoring
the processes to produce hydrogen. These processes include: steam/methane
reforming, steam production, water treatment, compressors, rotating
equipment and DCS operation. A Stationary Engineer license is required for
this position.
Position Responsibilities:
Plant operations, control and monitoring
Equipment inspections
Light mechanical repairs
Safety, health and environmental compliance
Direct interface with the on-site customer.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education a plus, but not
required
Stationary Engineer License is required
Must be willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts with periodic rotations
into the maintenance crew
Strong mechanical aptitude
Commitment to safety
Must have good communication and computer skills
Strong team player
Experience in an industrial and/or continuous process facility a plus
Qualified individuals with recent military experience are encouraged to
